Migrating to Subify Subscriptions

Migrate your existing subscriptions to Subify with in a white glove migration process.

Updated over a month ago

We're excited that you're considering joining the Subify family!

This guide will walk you through what to expect, including the steps involved before, during, and after your migration.

Remember, we’ll be with you every step of the way – from preparing your data to completing the migration. For further information on how Subify can enhance your business, check out our Get Started with Subify article.

Step 1: Fill Out the Google Form

The first step in your migration journey is to complete our Google Form, which will help us understand your current setup. You’ll need to provide details such as:

  • Your Shopify store URL

  • The subscription platform you’re currently using

  • The payment gateway you’re working with (Shopify Payments, Stripe, etc.)

  • The number of active subscriptions you manage

Once you submit the form, we will review your request within one business day to determine if your migration is eligible. When approved, we’ll include a link for you to book a migration meeting at a time that’s convenient for you.

Step 2: Pre-Migration Preparation

Once you’ve booked your meeting, there are a few pre-migration steps to help get your store ready.

  1. Install Subify
If you haven’t already done so, install Subify from the Shopify App Store.

  2. Recreate Your Current Subscription Plans
In Subify, recreate all the subscription plans you’re currently offering. Once this is done, place a test order to ensure everything works as expected.

  3. Disable the Subscription Widget of Your Previous App
To ensure new subscribers are directed to Subify and not your previous platform, disable the subscription widget on your previous app.

  4. Give Collaborator Access to Subify
Share your store’s collaborator access code with our team so we can manage the migration directly.

Step 3: Data Preparation

You’ll need to export your subscription data from your current platform. This step might seem tricky, but we’re here to guide you through it:

  1. Prepare Your Data
Depending on which platform you're migrating from, you’ll need to follow specific instructions to export your data:

    • If you're migrating from Recharge, follow this guide to prepare your data.

    • If you're migrating from another platform (e.g., Bold, Stay AI, Appstle, etc.), follow this guide to export your data.

  2. Deliver Your Data to Subify
After validating your data, reply to our initial email with your files. This allows us to begin preparing your subscription data for migration.

If you’re unsure about any part of the export process, don’t worry – we’ll help you review and finalize everything during our migration meeting.

Step 4: Migration Meeting

Once your meeting is booked, our expert migration team will connect with you to:

  • Review your data exports and ensure everything is ready for migration.

  • Discuss any specific needs or concerns you might have.

  • Help with anything you haven’t been able to complete yet (whether it’s data export, subscription plans, or anything else).

After the meeting, our team will get to work on the migration. The entire process typically takes up to 7 days after the meeting, and we’ll keep you updated on progress throughout.

Step 5: Wrapping Things Up

After the migration is complete, there are a few final steps to ensure everything is functioning smoothly on Subify:

  1. Check Your Migrated Subscriptions on Subify
After the migration, review your subscriptions within Subify to ensure everything transferred correctly.

  2. Cancel All Your Subscriptions on Your Previous App
Make sure to cancel all active subscriptions on your previous platform. This step prevents any overlap or double-billing issues for your customers.

  3. Uninstall Your Previous Subscription App
Once everything is up and running on Subify, we recommend uninstalling your previous subscription app. Some apps can still read other apps’ selling plans, which could interfere with your new Subify setup.

And there you have it – the entire migration process, step by step. We know that moving platforms can feel overwhelming, but rest assured, we’re here to help at every stage. If you ever have any questions or need assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out – we’re just an email away.

Welcome to Subify Subscriptions! 🎉
